Wholesome lunchbox snacks

Bill Granger

Making your own muesli bars at home ensures there's always something nutritious to put in the lunchbox. Unlike a lot of shop-bought muesli bars, they're not full of preservatives and they have lots of natural goodness in them. My three girls love them. I believe the important issue with children's nutrition is in limiting additives, especially with today's numerous allergies. The oatmeal and fig cookies are sweetened with natural honey. The chocolate brownies, while definitely a treat, are much lower in sugar and fat than most brownie recipes and the dates give them a delicious natural sweetness.
